I have lived in Boise and done business in Utah (in alcohol beverage business not less!) and I see how you can be torn. The beauty is, you can have both for as long as you want. These two geographies are relatively close and explore both for as long as you want. Neither are going anywhere and take your time. May you continue to be blessed so richly! I'...I don't think it's selfish at all.

I've never lived in Utah, so I can't talk to the experience. However, I moved to a very gay part of a pretty gay city four years ago and I am still sometimes amazed by how relaxed it makes me. There's something about not being in small minority that makes you feel totally at ease. You're right, in many ways, it's just not a big deal that you're gay in a city like that because you're unmarked. If my husband and I go to the hardware store together and ask the clerk about a home improvement question, no one gives it a second thought because it happens a hundred times a day. Even Pride isn't really a big deal - it's just like a neighborhood party where all the stores are covered in rainbows. Of course, you'd lose the parts of Utah culture that you like. I guess that's the trade-off.Evanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18400601923599341233noreply@blogger.com
